Mandazi Mix

  • Vegetable fat
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt
  • Emulsifiers

Mandazi Preparation

  • Place 500g(half packet) of Mandazi Mix into mixing bowl. Add 250ml of water or half full cup of water. Mix the same way as if you were kneading bread dough. The mixture will appear firm if this is correct
  • Divide into four equal portions. Shape into balls and cover with a damp cloth for 20minutes
  • Roll out each ball with a rolling pin to the thickness of a pencil, using a little dusting flour to prevent sticking.
  • Using a sharp knife, cut into four equal portions and leave covered with a damp cloth for a further 15-20mins
  • Heat oil to 180-190 degrees centigrade. Fry on both sides until golden brown. Roll in sugar after frying to taste
